53 bovines rescued, 7 smugglers arrested

REASI, June 17: Police foiled five separate attempts of bovines smuggling and rescued 53 bovines besides arresting seven smugglers.
A team of Police Station Mahore laid a surprise naka at Arital and intercepted one person namely Farooq Ahmed son of Abdul Hamid of Nihoch, Tehsil Mahore, who was smuggling 13 bovines. Police rescued all the bovines and arrested the accused.
Team of Police Station Mahore foiled another attempt of bovine smuggling by intercepting one Saliman son of Ali Mohd of Sildhar, Tehsil Mahore. Six bovines were rescued from his possession.
In another success, team of Police Station Mahore intercepted Farooq Mohd Ashraf son of Abdul Rehman of Nihoch, Tehsil Mahore and rescued 14 bovines from his possession.
Six bovines were rescued by a team of Police Post Thanole under the jurisdiction of Arnas Police Station. Accused was arrested at Khandi Gali, Dhakikote and has been identified as Bhutto Khan, son of Qasam Din of Chak Mathyani, Tehsil Khwaas, District Rajouri who was carrying bovines by foot towards Srinagar.
Another attempt of bovine smuggling was foiled by team of Police Station Chassana and 14 bovines were rescued at Sungri Kotli. Three smuggler, namely Mithu, son of Noora of Jij Bagli; Mohd Latif son of Mohd Bashir of Jij Bagli and Mohd Shafi Chache son of Mohd Qasim Chache of Kund Masjid Sharief Waltengo Tehsil Devsar District Kulgam were arrested in this connection.
SSP Reasi Amit Gupta, while sharing the details, said that Reasi Police was leaving no stone unturned to eradicate the menace of bovine smuggling in the district.
