SRINAGAR, May 15: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir organized 50th meeting of Research Council under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir, Dr. Tej Partap here today.
The meeting was informed that 280 research projects were submitted to State/national funding agencies for financial support, out of which 48 projects have been approved. In recent past, four AICRP coordination centres & three network centres have been approved by ICAR, New Delhi to undertake research in Pashmina goat, honeybees, pesticides, market intelligence, commodity profiling and agro meteorology.
The University in last two years has undertaken revival programmes in Mushkbudji, Kamad, Kashmiri Chilli and Ambri in their niche areas to inculcate Kashmiriyat in agriculture and harness the local biodiversity of other important crops.
The Vice-Chancellor on the occasion released CD on “Saib par aa-saib ke saaye” (apple pollination issues in Kashmir) & policy series 2015 (Seed plan, Pasture development, High density apples, Organic farming, Apple spray schedule) prepared and printed by Directorate of Research.
The meeting was attended by all the Directors, Deans, HoDs, Associated Scientists, Programme Co-ordinators, Directors and representatives from line Departments.
