JAMMU, June 1: Five more candidates from Jammu and Kashmir including two from Kathua, have cracked Civil Services examination, result of which was declared by UPSC on Wednesday.
They are- Ajay Kumar Tadia (AIR 389) from Shiva Nagar Kathua, Gokul Mahajan (AIR 564) from Patel Nagar Kathua, Shalesh Jain (AIR 578) from Jullahka Mohalla, Jammu; Bisma Qazi (AIR 115) from Rambagh Srinagar and Suhail Qasim Mir (AIR 125) from Bijbehara, in Anantnag Kashmir. With this, the number of candidates who cleared IAS examination from J&K has reached 12.
Ajay Kumar Tadia (29), son of retired J&K Bank Managar (Br. Head) cleared this exam in third attempt. He did his BDS from IDS, Seora College in Jammu and then started coaching in Delhi. He also qualified Assistant Commandant’s Exam for ITBP during 2016 but did not join there. The family originally belongs to Hiranagar of district Kathua.
Gokul Mahajan (23), son of SK Gupta (AEE in R&B) and Anita Gupta (Govt teacher) from Kathua, originally hails from Mangtian village of Chhan Rodian (Distt Kathua). He is the product of RIMC Dehradun from where he did his 12th and then graduation from Delhi University. After this, he started his preparations for IAS exam. He achieved this feat in second attempt.
Shalesh Jain (24), son of Ashok Kumar Jain, retired Dy Accountant General from AG office Jammu, a resident of Jammu, is the product of Army School, Kaluchak and DBN, Jammu. He did his B Tech in Computer Sciences from NIT Srinagar and then started preparation for the Civil Services examination. He qualified it in second attempt. Mr Jain said he mainly remained dependent on self study with the help of test series managed from a New Delhi, Institute.
Bismah Qazi, hailing from Rambagh in Srinagar, qualified the IAS examination in second attempt and secured 115th rank. She had appeared in the Civil Services exam during 2015 also. She gave credit of her success to the parents who supported her a lot during her studies.
Another Kashmiri youth, Suhail Qasim Mir (26), son of Police Head Constable Mohd Qasim Mir, hailing from Bijbehara in Anantnag also cracked Civil Services examination and secured 125th rank. He did his schooling at Bijbehara and then graduated from Degree College Bemina, Srinagar. Mir did his MBA from Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi and is pursuing his PhD from the same University.
Meanwhile, as already reported on Thursday, Sahil Digra (23), son of retired Naib Tehsildar ,Gian Chand, hailing from Gran Morh, Reasi, who secured 917th rank in the Civil Services exams, is the product of KV Jyotipuram. Sahil did his graduation in Arts from Delhi University and started his coaching and self study in Delhi and cleared IAS in first attempt.
