Srinagar, May 11: State Intelligence Unit (SIU-II/ Srinagar today presented a chargesheet before the Special designated NIA Court Srinagar against five militant associates whose case was registered in Police Station Shalteng in Srinagar.
The SIU-II Srinagar produced a chargesheet of case FIR number 41/2022 under section 7/25 A.Act, 13, 18, 23, 39, UA(P) Act of Police Station Shalteng before Special designated NIA Court Srinagar.
The case pertains to the recovery of a huge cache of arms and ammunition by Srinagar Police, 2RR and 44bn CRPF at a checkpoint established at Tri-junction Narbal national highway on last year from the possession of three militant associates.
They were identified as Rouf Safeer Dar son of Abdul Rashid Dar resident of Khanday Mohallah Pattan, Javiad Ahmed Khanday son of Ghulam Hassan Khanday resident of Khanday Mohallah Pattan and Mohammad Iqbal Dhobee son of Manzoor Ahmed Dhobee resident of Aram Mohallah Pattan. They were transporting the arms and ammunition in a TATA vehicle bearing registration number JK15/2207 from Srinagar to Pattan on the instance of one terrorist @ Hamza linked with proscribed terrorist outfit LeT. The said vehicle as proceeds of militancy and on prior approval was attached for further proceedings.
The SIU said that case was further investigated which resulted to nomination of other two militant associates Shakir Ahmed Zargar son of Nisar Ahmed Zargar resident of Khanday Mohallah Pattan, Waris Ramzan Gojre son of Mohd Ramzan Gojre resident of Malpora Pattan and terrorist @ Hamza.
The investigation of the case has been closed against the five militant associates Under Section 173 CrPC and chargesheet was produced before NIA Court Srinagar today. “The investigation of the case will remain continue Under Section 173(8) CrPC in order to effect the arrest of other involved persons and determination of details after obtaining expert opinions,” the SIU said.
