5 die of COVID-19 in Valley

Spike in cases, 822 test +ve

Srinagar, Sept 10: Kashmir today recorded yet another spike in Coronavirus cases with 822 testing positive and taking the Jammu and Kashmir positive cases beyond 50, 000 while five people died in the Valley.
Those who tested positive today include 218 from Srinagar, 75 Baramulla, 68 Pulwama, 190 Budgam, 49 Anantnag, 56 Bandipora, 85 Kupwara, 15 Kulgam, 2 Shopian and 64 from Ganderbal in Kashmir.
As per officials figures, 10,980 positive cases including 246 deaths and 9,097 recoveries are from Srinagar, 3,274 including 110 deaths and 2,410 recoveries are from Baramulla, 3,035 including 2,499 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,278 including 2,214 recoveries and 68 deaths are from Budgam, 2,762 including 53 deaths and 2,032 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,558 including 1,858 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,609 cases including 1,720 and 56 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,041 including 1,892 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,797 including 1,663 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Shopian and 1,933 including 1,393 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Ganderbal.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 34,267 including 26,778 recoveries.
With 344 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 34,215 which is 69.57 percent of the total cases which was over 78 percent few days before.
For the first time since COVID-19 outbreak, active cases have reached over 14,000 in J&K.
Out of 1,152,563 the number of samples tested negative are 1,103,429 while 49,134 have tested positive, among them 14,074 are active and 34,215 persons have recovered.
Five people died in Kashmir today taking the deaths toll due to COVID-19 to 849 in J&K.
Those who died include a 56-year-old man from Lolab Kupwara, a 70-year-old woman from Batamallo, a 45-year-old man from Fakir Gujri Harwan, a 66-year-old man from Humhama Budgam and a 50-year-old man woman from Uri Baramulla.
An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Lolab Kupwara who was admitted on September 1 and a patient from Uri Baramulla who also was admitted on September 1 with hypertension, hypothyroid, pneumonia and other ailments died today.
An official from SMHS Hospital in Srinagar said that a patient from Batamallo who was admitted a few days back, a patient from Fakir Gujri Harwan area of Srinagar who was admitted on September 3 and a patient from Humhama in district Budgam who was admitted on September 6 died today.
With fresh deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 849 including 718 from Kashmir division.
