SRINAGAR: The National Highway, the only road linking the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country will remain closed tomorrow following fresh rain and snowfall.
A traffic police spokesman said here this evening that in view of fresh rain and snowfall at various places of National Highway, particularly at Ramsoo, Banihal, Jawahar Tunnel, Zig, Qazigund coupled with slippery condition of the road, no movement of traffic either from Jammu or Srinagar shall be allowed on the highway tomorrow keeping in view the security and safety of drivers and passengers. He said people are requested to contact Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Srinagar (01942450022, 2485386), TCU Ramban (9419993745) and TCU Jammu (01912459048) and officers of Traffic wing to get the status of the road before starting the journey on the Highway.
