42 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Dec 16: Udhampur Police today rescued 42 bovine animals and seized two trucks even as drivers of both the vehicles managed to escape.
Based on reliable information, police party of Police Station Udhampur laid a surprise naka on NHW near Toldi Nallah for checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police  intercepted one truck bearing registration number  JK02AF-1487, driver of the truck  fled away from the spot leaving behind the bovine laden vehicle. 23 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this truck. All 23 bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 578/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, in another case,  police party from PS Rehambal rescued 19  bovine animals. Based on a reliable information, Police laid surprise naka at Rehambal. Noticing the police party, driver of the truck  JK02BP-6685 fled away from the spot leaving behind the vehicle, which was found loaded with 19 bovine animals.
Police rescued the animals and seized the vehicle besides registering a case in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
