KATHUA, Dec 16: Police today foiled two bovines smuggling bids and rescued total of 28 bovine animals in Lakhanpur and Kathua area.
In Lakhanpur area, Police rescued 22 bovine animals during the intervening night of December 15 and 16.
As per reports police party led by Inspector, Kulbir Singh Choudhary SHO Police Station Lakhanpur under the supervision of Parul Bhardwaj DYSP, DAR DPL Kathua, laid a naka near Golden Gate Jagatpur. On seeing the police party drivers of two trucks bearing registration number, JK03B-0520 and JK05F-3580 which were coming from Punjab towards Jammu stopped their vehicle at some distance from naka point and fled away from the spot.
On checking police party found 22 bovine animals loaded in it. All the bovine animals were rescued and both the trucks were also seized. Accordingly a case FIR No.120/2017 U/S 188 RPC ,3/5 PCA Act stands registered at PS Lakhanpur.
Meanwhile, acting on a specific information, Police party led by Inspector, Anil Sharma SHO, PS Kathua along with SI Anil Kotwal under the supervision of S S Sambyal Dy. SP Headquarters Kathua today rescued six bovine animals. As per reports Police party in the wee hours, stopped one Dumper without number at Berrian Pattan Lower Jagatpur and on checking found six bovines loaded inside the dumper. Driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot but police rescued six bovine animals and seized the vehicle. A case FIR No. 374/17 U/S 188 RPC 3/5 PCA Act at Police Station Kathua stands registered against them. Further investigation is going on to nab the culprits.
Both these police actions were conducted under the direct supervision of Sanjay Parihar, Additional SP Kathua and overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Suleman Choudhary , to curb bovine smuggling.
