JAMMU, Sept 10: Sarpanchs from four Panchayat Halqas including Hallan, Joura Khurd, Joura Kalan and Jia in newly created Niabat Chirrala in tehsil Thathri have demanded that these Panchayats be retained with the previous block Thathri.
In a memorandum submitted to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu the Sarpanchs of these Panchayats- Om Raj Bhall, Kalyan Singh, Bhushan Lal and Kuldip Kumar have said that people of these Panchayats have to travel a distance of 20 to 30 kms on foot to reach the headquarters of newly created block and Niabat Bajja traversing through thick forest endangering their lives. They demanded that Government should rethink on this decision and retain these Panchayats with the previous Block. They also demanded upgradation of Health Sub Centre Joura Kalan.
