POONCH, Jan 25: Poonch Police today arrested four notorious drug peddlers.
“A team of Police Station Poonch led by SHO Poonch Ranjeet Singh Rao and Incharge Police Post Jhulass Rahul Angral today arrested 4 notorious drug peddlers who were involved in drug peddling since long,” a Police spokesman said.
He said their arrest was made during a special naka laid at Jhulass. The spokesman said 30 grams of heroin like substance as well as 6 disposable syringes were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Mohd Nawaz Sharief son of Mohd Sharief of Khanetar (Poonch), Mohd Shakeel son of Shakar Din of Allapir (Poonch), Khalid Bhat son of Sayed Akhter of Allapir (Poonch) and Rashid Ahmed alias Missing son of Abdul Hamid of Qazi Mohra (Ward Number 1, Poonch).
“In this regard, a case under FIR Number 12/2023 U/S 8/21/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Poonch and further investigation started,” he added.
