4 more die of COVID in Jammu, one in Ladakh

197 test positive, 264 recover

JAMMU, Oct 29: Four more persons including a woman lost their lives to Coronavirus in Jammu region today and 197 tested positive, 109 of them in Jammu district, while 264 persons recovered from the virus.
A 44-year-old man from Bakshi Nagar in Jammu district died in a private hospital at Ludhiana where he was under treatment and had tested positive for COVID-19.
Two Corona deaths were reported from Udhampur district today including a 52-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman from Garhi. Both of them died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu. They were co-morbid and positive for COVID.
A 60-year-old man from Dhanidhar in Rajouri district succumbed to the ailments and virus in the GMC Rajouri.
With four Corona casualties in Jammu region today, total number of deaths have gone up to 491. Jammu district has highest number of 254 casualties followed by 47 Rajouri, 45 Doda, 32 Udhampur, 31 Kathua, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 14 Kishtwar, 13 Ramban and eight in Reasi district.
Among 197 persons who tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu region today, 109 hailed from Jammu district and 103 of them were locals and six travelers.
Twenty one Corona positive cases were today reported from Udhampur, 15 Kathua, 12 Doda, eight each in Poonch, Ramban and Reasi districts, seven Samba, six Kishtwar and three in Rajouri district.
As many as 264 persons today recovered from the virus, the highest being 120 in Jammu district, 48 Samba, 29 Kishtwar, 18 Rajouri, 15 each Udhampur and Poonch, nine Doda, eight Kathua and two in Ramban district. No recoveries were reported from Reasi district.
Jammu region now has 37409 Corona cases. Of them, 2048 are active positives while 34870 have recovered from the virus. There have been 491 casualties in the region.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported one more Corona casualty and 54 new cases.
A 76-year-old man from Leh died of Coronavirus taking the death toll to 74-36 in Leh and 38 in Kargil district.
Among 54 new Corona cases, 44 were reported from Leh and 10 in Kargil district.
The UT of Ladakh now has 6139 Corona cases. Of them, 627 are active positives as 5438 others have recovered from the virus.
