4 jawans hurt as vehicle falls into gorge

MENDHAR, July 11: Four soldiers were injured, one of them seriously, after an Army vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in forward area of Balakote  in district Poonch today.
Defence sources said that the mishap took place  at around 12.15 pm when the 2.5 ton Army vehicle  was moving to a nearby 49 RR unit in Sandot area. The road was slippery  due to rain and  the driver failed to control it at a bad road patch. The vehicle landed into nearly 50 feet deep gorge causing injuries to all the four soldiers on board.
All the injured were rushed to the unit hospital in  the area from where seriously injured Sepoy Lukman was referred to Military Hospital, Rajouri. Three other injured soldiers are identified as Sepoy Pardesi, Sep  Rajiv Kumar and Sep Sundra Murty.
