4 injured in militant firing

Srinagar, Aug 11: Militants this evening shot at and injured four civilians in Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The militants opened fire on Aftab Ahmed and Abdur Rehman at Gundaripora, Pattan in Baramulla district at around 7 pm, injuring four civilians. Aftab was admitted to local hospital while Rehman has been referred to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
A police spokesman said here that today evening in the outskirts of Gundaripora Pattan militants fired upon some persons. Four persons received fire arm injuries.
“Two of the injured has been identified as Abdul Rehman Wani, 30, son of Mahada Wani and Aftab Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rasheed Bhat, both residents of Gundaripora. Both of them have been evacuated to hospital. Two more persons have received minor injuries in the shootout who have been treated locally”, the spokesman said.
