4 gamblers arrested in Baramulla

Srinagar, Feb 5: Police in Baramulla arrested four gamblers today and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on specific information about gambling activities at Zoogiyar Sheeri, authorities reported that a police party from PS Sheeri, led by SHO PS Sheeri, conducted a raid at the gambling site and apprehended the individuals.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Pehliharan; Irshad Ahmad Tantray, son of Ghulam Hassan, resident of Zoogiyar; Reyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Gh Nabi; and Gh Nabi Malik, son of Ghulam Qadir, both residents of Zandfaran Sheeri, the police said.
Police confiscated the stake money amounting to Rs 6,020/- and playing cards from their possession.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 04/2024, involving relevant sections of the law, has been registered at Police Station Sheeri.
