4 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU, July 19: Gadigarh and Ramban police arrested four drug peddlers along with heroin and poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gadigarh Police Post led by ASI Nitya Kumar laid a naka at Rohi Morh and intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK02AP-5527.
During checking, police team recovered 30 grams of heroin from the possession of three persons traveling in the vehicle and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Amin, son of Mohammad Imtiaz of Darsopur Miran Sahib, Rohit Kala, son of Satish Kala alias Bini of Darsopur and Mohammad Mushtaq, son of Mohammad Bula of Kothey Shekho Miran Sahib.
A case under FIR Number 148/2020 under section 8/20/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Ramban Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Sharma laid a naka near Shan Palace and intercepted a Jammu bound truck bearing registration number JK07S-9199.
During checking, police team recovered 5 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Shiv Dayal alias Shiva, son of Asha Nand of Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 113/2020 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation initiated.
