JAMMU, Sept 5: Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered 18 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, a team from Bahu Fort Police Station led by SI Deepak Thakur and assisted by ASI Bashir Malik intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02CD-7130 near Bahu Plaza.
During checking, police team recovered 8 grams heroin from the possession of three persons sitting in the vehicle and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Rohit Choudhary, son of late Ram Paul Choudhary of Raipur Satwari, Abhishak Jamwal, son of Gautam Singh Jamwal of Shivaji Chowk Nanak Nagar Jammu and Vishwajeet Singh, son of Ranbir Singh of Trilokpur Jakh Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba.
A case under FIR Number 247/19 under sections 8/21/22/27(a)/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation initiated.
Meanwhile, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka near Gund Adalkote and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Sameer Ahmed Lone (25), son of Ghulam Nabi Lone of Doligam, Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 117/19 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this regard at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Abid Hussain made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
