4 drug peddlers arrested with banned syrup bottles, intoxicant capsules

JAMMU, Apr 12: The sleuths of Special Operation Group (SOG) Jammu and cops from Police Stations Gangyal and Samba apprehended four drugs traffickers along with banned syrup bottles and intoxicant capsules.
As per police sources, on specific information, the sleuths of SOG Jammu and cops from Police Station Gangyal led by SHO SI Nayat Ali laid a naka near Kunjwani and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK01P-8716.
During checking, police recovered 2900 bottles of banned syrup bottles from the vehicle and arrested two drug peddlers, who have been identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Abdul Razaaq of Wanpoh District Anantnag and Shahzad Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Ahad of Nopoora District Kulgam.
A case under FIR Number 32/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
Meanwhile, the sleuths of SOG Jammu accompanied by cops from Police Station Samba intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03G-2997 at Mansar Morh.
During frisking, cops recovered 28,800 intoxicant capsules and 50 bottles of banned syrup from the vehicle and arrested two narcotics smugglers, who were identified as Fayaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hassan of Hamza Pora District Anantnag and Rafaqat Dedad, son of Ghulam Hassan Dedad of Laamad, District Kulgam.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Samba Police Station and investigation started.
The whole exercise was closely monitored by SSP SOG Jammu Sandeep Mehta and was carried out under the supervision of SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh and SSP Samba Dr. Koushal Kumar.
