34 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, Apr 12: Police today foiled a major attempt of bovine smuggling at Chenani and rescued 34 animals besides arresting the two accused.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey said that acting on reliable information, a Police party led by SHO Chenani, Insp Paramjeet Singh laid a naka at Motorshed, NHW, Chenani and intercepted two trucks bearing registration number JK05C- 0939 and UP 15AT 5714.
During search of said vehicles, 34 bovine animals were found loaded in both the trucks without any valid permission. All the bovine animals were rescued and the accused drivers namely Zafran Ahmed Wani son of Mohd Yousaf of Darshi Pura , Ramban and Ghulfam son of Hashim of Chakrota, UP, were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 37 /2019 U/S 188, RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation is going on.
