4 drug peddlers arrested

JAMMU, May 10: Gadigarh and Bhalla police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered narcotics from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gadigarh Police Post led by SI Hamid Mohammad Shahnawaz Giri during patrolling in Bhour Camp area intercepted three persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 75 grams heroin, one electronic weighing machine and Rs 47,300 cash from the possession of the trio and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Jatinder Singh alias Sippy, son of Ujagar Singh, Bikram Jeet Singh, son of Ujagar Singh and Taranpreet Kour alias Parjai, wife of Bikram Jeet Singh, all residents of Ward Number 1, Bhour Camp.
A case under FIR Number 92/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Bhalla Police Post led by SI Mukesh Sharma arrested a drug peddler and recovered 330 intoxicant tablets from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman Mir, a resident of Bashla Tehsil Bhalla District Doda.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Bhaderwah Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
