4 die, 384 test +ve in Valley

Srinagar, Oct 21: Four persons died of COVID-19 in Kashmir today taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1402 while 384 tested positive in the Valley taking the number of positive cases in J&K to 89,582.
Four persons died of COVID-19 in Kashmir today. They include two from Srinagar and one each from Baramulla and Pulwama.
A 48-year-old woman from Sopore in Baramulla district died at SKIMS Soura today, three days after she was admitted there.
An 85-year-old woman from Ram Bagh Srinagar died at SMHS hospital today, two days after she was admitted there.
A 63-year-old man from HMT in district Srinagar died at SKIMS today.
A 40-year-old man from Manasbal Ganderbal died at the SKIMS hospital in Soura, 15 days after he was admitted there.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 940 in Valley.
Srinagar district with 337 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 137, Budgam 90, Pulwama 79, Kupwara 71, Anantnag 71, Kulgam 46, Bandipora 42, Shopian 35 and Ganderbal 31.
In Kashmir valley 384, people tested positive taking the number of positive cases in J&K to 89,582.
Those who tested positive include 176 from Srinagar, 29 Budgam, 63 Baramulla, 14 Pulwama, 37 Kupwara, 21 Anantnag, 15 Bandipora, 18 Ganderbal, 16 Kulgam and 7 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 18,120 positive cases including 337 deaths and 15,994 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,726 including 90 deaths and 5,258 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,348 including 3,895 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,477 including 4,127 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,135 including 71 deaths and 3,718 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,059 including 3,640 recoveries and 71 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,912 cases including 3,591 and 42 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,359 including 3,097 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,425 including 2,272 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,137 including 2,018 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.
Of total 89,582 positive cases, 53,698 are from Kashmir. In Kashmir, out of the positive cases 47,610 have recovered and 938 died.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 8,088 including 5,150 from Kashmir division.
With 655 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 80,092 which is 89.40 percent of the total cases.
Out of 2,075,701 samples processed, the number of negative cases are 1,986,119 while as 89,582 have tested positive.
