4 COVID-19 +ve patients die in Kashmir, tally 143

182 fresh Corona cases include 38 security men

Srinagar, July 7: Four COVID-19 positive people today died in Kashmir taking the number of Coronavirus deaths in Jammu and Kashmir to 143 while 182 people tested positive in the Valley including 38 security force personnel.
A 62-year-old from Batpora village of Anantnag district passed away at SKIMS hospital Soura today. He was a case of Hypertension, T2DM, COPD T1RF and bilateral CAP. The man tested positive today only.
A 65-year-old woman from Noorbagh area of Srinagar died at SMHS hospital today. She was brought to the hospital this morning and died later. She had multiple problems with bilateral pneumonia.
A 60-year-old COVID-19 positive woman from Baramulla died at CD hospital here today. A resident of Kunzer area of Baramulla, the woman was suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), hypertension and diabetes besides bilateral pneumonia. She was admitted on July 3 and died this morning.
A 65-year-old man from D H Pora area of Kulgam died last night at SKIMS hospital Soura. He was admitted to the hospital on June 29. He tested positive at the hospital and was suffering from Hypertension, T2DM with encephalopathy and septic uremic.
With these deaths, 143 people have died in J&K including 129 from the Valley and 14 from Jammu.
Srinagar district with 35 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla 27, Kulgam 17, Shopian 13, Anantnag 12, Budgam 10, Jammu 8, Kupwara 7, Pulwama four, Bandipora three, Doda 2 while one death each has been reported from Ganderbal, Poonch, Udhampur, Rajouri and Kathua districts.
Kashmir today reported 182 fresh cases of COVID-19 infections, taking the number of cases in J&K to 8931.
The new cases include at least 29 paramilitary CRPF and SSB men besides eight men from BEACON. They are 61 from Srinagar, Baramulla 30, Kupwara 18, 16 each in Kulgam and Pulwama, Ganderbal 14, ten in Budgam, eight each in Anantnag and Bandipora and Shopian one.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, Dr Farooq Jan, told Excelsior that 823 samples received from Srinagar Airport yesterday were processed and four tested positive including two from Srinagar and one each from Baramulla and Anantnag.
He said that 1747 samples were processed at SKIMS virology laboratory and 97 tested positive. They include 20 from CRPF Battalions, 15 from Kulgam, 14 from Pulwama, 11 each from Budgam and Srinagar, eight each from Bandipora and Kupwara, six from Anantnag, five from Baramulla, two from Ganderbal and one from Shopian.
The 20 from CRPF are from its 54 Battalion based at Nishat Srinagar. The cases from Kupwara include eight men from 109 RCC of BRO based in Kupwara. A man from SSB also tested positive.
Principal SKIMS Bemina, Dr Riyaz Untoo, told Excelsior that out of 695 samples processed at the hospital’s lab, 6 tested positive for COVID-19, all from Srinagar.
And an official said that 75 people tested positive at Chest Diseases Hospital Virology laboratory today.
An official said that 59 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals of Kashmir.
