RAMBAN, July 7: A 7-year-old girl died today after hit by landslide triggered by felling of trees in Rajgarh area.
According to police sources, some unknown timber smugglers were cutting Kail trees illegally in forest area of Compartment number 70 (Kumate Baddla area) in tehsil Rajgarh, this morning.
They said that felling of trees triggered landslide and 7-year-old nomad girl namely Afia Bano daughter of Shamim Ahmed Parihar, resident of Kumate Suli (at present living in Baddla Kumate), who was grazing her cattle nearby, came under the debris and died on spot.
“The body of the deceased girl was shifted to a nearby Government Hospital and after conducting postmortem, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites,” sources said.
“In this connection, a case under relevant sections was registered at police station Ramban and investigation started. However, no arrest was made till the last reports came in,” they further added.
