RAMBAN, July 15: In separate cases, Ramban police today rescued 36 bovine animals from the clutches of seven smugglers and seized the vehicles used in smuggling.
A police team led by Inspector Rajeshwer Singh Slathia, SHO police station Ramban and Deputy SP Headquarters, Ramban, Imtiaz Ahmed rescued 24 bovine animals and seized three vehicles including two Tata Mobiles bearing registration numbers JK02BL-7986 and JK19-1611, and one truck bearing registration number JK14A-5419 during the intervening night of July 14 and 15.
Four accused Fareed son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Miran Sahib (RS Pura), Barket Ali son of Faried Hussain, resident of Badyal Qazia (RS Pura), Mohd Latief son of Kaka Gujjar, resident of Panchari Lander (Udhampur) and Mohd Aslam son of Guddo, resident of Dak Bungalow, Miran Sahib, were also arrested by the police team.
In this connection, three FIRs No 92/2017, 93/2017 and 94/2017 under Section 188/RPC 3PCA Act stand registered in police station Ramban.
In a separate case, a police team of police station Banihal laid a special naka at Kharpura (Banihal) to check the vehicles coming from Jammu side. During checking, two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19-2199 driven by Showket Ahmed of Doligam (Banihal) and a Mahindra auto driven by Mohamad Arshad of Parnote (Ramban) were stopped and seven bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicles.
The bovines were rescued and vehicles seized. The drivers of both the vehicles were also arrested. In this regard, two separate FIRs have been lodged under section 188 RPC 3 PC Act at police station Banihal and investigation started.
Four bovines were also rescued by Chanderkote police this morning during special naka checking near police station. The police team intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK19-1903, which was on its way towards Srinagar from Jammu and found three cows and one calf loaded in the vehicle.
The vehicle was seized and its driver of the vehicle Bashir Ahmed son of Gulab Din, resident of Dukan (Ramban) was arrested. In this connection, a case FIR No 31/2017 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PC Act was registered and investigation started.
All the operations were conducted directly under the guidance of Additional SP Ramban, Mushtaq Ahmed and overall supervision of SSP Ramban, Mohan Lal.
