36 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

REASI, May 22: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and arrested two persons besides rescuing 36 cattle, which were being smuggled to Kashmir.
An information was received from reliable source at Police station Arnas that some persons indulged in smuggling of bovine animals were on way towards Kashmir via Chilladh by foot. On this information, a team of Police personnel deputed from SPP Chilladh laid a naka at Jaman Gali. During naka duty, two bovine smugglers were intercepted alongwith 36 cattle. On seeing the police party, the accused persons tried to flee but were chased and arrested.
The arrested accused were identified as Mohd Sahfi son of Mohd Ayoub of Chillad, Arnas and Jamal Din son of Husssaina of Dansal, Tehsil Arnas . 36 bovine animals were rescued from their clutches .
In this connection a case FIR number 35/2019 U/S 188 RPC was registered and investigation started. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Ashok Sharma, SDPO Arnas and Shiv Kumar Chauhan, Addl SP Reasi.
