UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 31 number of cattle besides arresting the accused smugglers.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey said that a police party of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Vijay Singh Choudhary, laid a naka near Thard area, NHW, Udhampur and intercepted a group of 31 bovine animals, which was being taken on foot by the smugglers towards Kashmir without any valid permission.
All 31 bovine animals were rescued and the accused smugglers namely Liaqat Ali son of Sher Ali of Upper Thonoa, Udhampur and Dilawar Hussain son of Shabir Hussain of Krimchi, Udhampur were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR number 491/19 U/S 188RPC, 3PCAct has been registered at PS Udhampur for further investigation.
