308 kanals of State land retrieved from encroachers

REASI, July 23: Continuing its drive against illegal encroachments in the Reasi district on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Sushma Chauhan, Tehsildar Thakrakote today retrieved 308 kanals of State land from the encroachers and asked SHO Arnas to lodge an FIR in the matter.
The action was taken on the complaint of locals of village-Panassa, who yesterday reported the Tehsildar that some persons had illegally encroached upon the State land and common paths being utilized in routing by local inhabitants.
Taking cognizance of the matter, Tehsildar Thakrakote sought report from Naib Tehsildar Thakrakote who after conducting enquiry and scrutiny of revenue record submitted  a detailed factual report,  which reveals that Mubarak Singh, Lehar Singh  and  Satya Devi, all resident of  Panassa, Thakrakote,  illegally encroached upon the State land  measuring 308 kanals (appx.) falling under Khasra No. 519/437 Min. village Panassa, Thakrakote by way of local fencing which is a clear violation of section 133 (c) of Land Revenue  Act, Svt. 1996 and standing circular instructions/orders from higher authorities from time to time.
Rajesh Kumar, (Tehsildar) Assistant Collector 1st Class in exercise of powers vested under Section 133 of Land Revenue Act, Svt. 1996 and on the basis of report submitted by field staff, passed an order vide No. TT/2015-16/974-80, July 23, 2015 to evict the encroacher and taking police assistance retrieved 308 kanals of State land from the illegal possession of encroachers.
Rajesh Kumar further instructed the field staff to remain vigilant in their respective areas and report immediately in case of encroachment found if any on State, Kah Charai or common lands.
