LEH, May 6: About 300 evacuated passengers from Jammu including students reached Leh safely today morning in 10 buses from Khaltsi, here.
The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal and Executive Councillor for Education Konchok Stanzin received the evacuated passengers at new Bus Stand Leh.
CEC Wangyal asked about the wellbeing of evacuated passengers and urged them to follow home and institutional quarantine measures honestly as per the instructions of district administration Leh.

Wangyal also urged inbound evacuated passengers to follow social distancing, hand washing and wearing of masks for a prolonged time and make it a habit until the battle against pandemic is won.
The District Administration Leh headed by ADC Leh Dr Zahida Bano has made elaborate arrangements at New Bus stand Leh where tea and biscuits were served to the passengers, who were handed over to their family members with home quarantine colourful stickers which will be pasted at their respective home gates.
“A surveillance team of officers will inspect homes of inbound passengers to ensure strict follow-up of 14 days home quarantine,” a source from the district administration said.
The district administration also arranged vehicles for needy passengers including bus for passengers of Nubra valley to ensure their safe journey up to their respective homes.
