LAHDC Kargil approves Rs 232.42 cr Annual Plan

KARGIL, May 6: The Annual Capex Budget of Rs 232.42 crore of LAHDC, Kargil for the year 2020-2021 was approved during a meeting of the Executive Council under the chairmanship of the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan here today.
The budget comprises of a total allocation of Rs 10637.73 lakh under the Engineering Sector and Rs 12604.27 lakh under the Non-Engineering Sector for execution of major works and the purchase of Machinery, Equipments and Motor Vehicles.
Executive Councillor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Mujtaba Mosavi, Executive Councillor for Rural Development Er Phunsog Tashi, Executive Councillor for Works Aga Syed Abbass Razvi, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Deputy Commissioner and CEO,LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, Chief Planning Officer Kargil Abdul Hadi and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The Chairman stated that prior to the approval of the draft plan, due consent has been taken from all the 30 Councillors of the LAHDC, Kargil.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on the allocation of funds and execution of work on different schemes in all sectors.
The CEC said the focused sectors of the Council this year will be Health, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries.
He further stated that focus would also be laid to strengthen the Cooperative Societies in the district to make them efficient, functional and resourceful.
The meeting also decided to fix a ceiling of Rs 1.50 crores in respect of all new schemes/works in different sectors besides the enhancement of CCDF funds of the Councillors as well as the Untied Funds of the CEC, LAHDC, Kargil and the DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil to deal with emergency situations.
It was revealed in the meeting that funds have been allocated this year for construction of Kargil House at Sonamarg and have also been kept for the construction of Girls and Boys hostels at Jammu as well as the renovation of Kargil House Srinagar.
Meanwhile, the CEC Kargil urged the Executive Councillors and the Deputy Commissioner Kargil to instruct all sectoral officers to start the development works in the right earnest besides pacing them up keeping in view the short working season.
The CEC also expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur for allotting an enhanced ceiling of Rs 232.42 Crores for the annual Capex Budget of Kargil district for the year 2020-2021.
While urging upon the ECs and the DC to ensure effective implementation of development schemes on the ground for better results, the CEC said that the role of the implementing agencies is of prime importance to ensure the public welfare schemes are completed in a time-bound manner and the targets set are achieved in full.
