BHADERWAH, May 31: Nine passengers including three women received injuries, when the mini-bus they were traveling in, skidded off the road and turned turtle near village Neota here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14A-0211 was on its way from Bhaderwah to Doda, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle near Neota village. The accident took place due to negligence of the driver.
After getting information, police team from Bhaderwah police station led by SHO Inspector Bandeshwar Singh Manhas and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to PHC Bhalla, from where three were referred to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah and three to District Hospital (DH) Doda for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Bayasa Devi, wife of Suram Singh of Laksroo, Niaz Ali, son of Abdul Rashid of Bhatyas Gandoh, Shafqat Aziz, son of Abdul Aziz of Akhyarpura Bhatyas, Rehana Begum, wife of Fareed Ahmed of Bharth Doda, Fareed Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Bharath, Nasir, son of Sameer Ahmed of Puneja, Fiza Begum, wife of Ali Mohammad of Bhalla, Mehraj Din, son of Sanaullha, Wasim Iqbal, son of Mohammad Iqbal and Irshad Ahmed, son of Ghulam Rasool, trio residents of Qilla Mohalla.
A case in this regard has been registered at Bhaderwah police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a truck bearing registration number JK02K-3036 loaded with wine boxes rolled down near Chareel in tehsil Banihal, district Ramban on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The driver of the vehicle identified as Pawan Kumar, son of Madan Lal of district Reasi, escaped unhurt in the incident. Police has taken cognizance.
