UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: In a tragic incident, three sisters and their brother drowned while taking bath at Chattrari Nallah in Ramnagar today.
According to the police reports, the deceased siblings had gone for grazing their cattle where they accidently drowned apparently while taking bath in the Nallah or trying to rescue each other.
The deceased were identified as Nishu Devi (16) daughter of Firangu Ram, her sisters Anju Devi (22), Meenakshi (12) and brother Yash Pal (24).
The matter came to light when body of one of the sisters was found floating in the water by a villager, this afternoon. On being informed, SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhishm Dubey along with SHO Ramnagar Pushpinder Singh and SDRF team rushed to the spot and launched a search operation with the help of locals.
Later, dead bodies of three others were also fished out and shifted to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar for the postmortem and other legal formalities.
The tragic incident has devastated the family of Firangu Ram and shocked the entire village. According to the villagers, deceased Yash Pal was biological son of Som Raj Gaddi, brother of Firangul Ram but had been adopted by the latter.
