*10 drivers, 10 shopkeepers booked

JAMMU, Mar 21: Three public transport vehicles have been blacklisted and 2 driving licences (DLs) have been suspended in Doda and in Mendhar area of District Poonch, 10 drivers and 10 shopkeepers were booked for Violating DM’s order issued with regard to COVID-19 pandemic.
As per reports, the ARTO Doda on the instructions of DM Dr Sagar D Doifode today blacklisted three public transport vehicles and suspended two DLs for violating the orders of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).
District Magistrate along with DySP DAR Doda during tour to Gandoh visited different areas of the district to ensure the implementation of the orders issued to check spread of COVID-19. DM found the vehicles plying on the roads alongwith passengers.
The vehicles were immediately prohibited to ply further and blacklisted, reports said, adding that the owners/drivers of the vehicles were issued notice by ARTO office to submit their licences in the office without any delay for their suspension otherwise strict action under rule for the violation of DM order will be initiated under Disaster Management Act, 2005.
Similarly, on the directions of DM Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode, ARTO officials today visited many areas of the district to ensure the implementation of the DM order and found many vehicles plying on the road in violation to the DM orders.
In this regard, five vehicles alongwith drivers were handed over to the Police Station Doda for lodging of FIR against them under rule.
In all, three public transport vehicles were blacklisted and 2 DLs were suspended for violating the DM Doda order.
Meanwhile, 10 vehicles and 10 shopkeepers were booked for violating DM Poonch order by Mendhar Police.
A case under FIR Number 46/2020 under section 188 IPC has been registered against the owners/drivers of the vehicles at Police Station Mendhar.
The action was taken by SHO Mendher Inspector Naveen Angral under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar and SSP Poonch Romesh Angral.
Action has also been taken against 10 shopkeepers who violated the order of the District Magistrate by Tehsildar Mendhar in the presence of Sub Division Magistrate.
A case under FIR Number 47/2020 under Section 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Mendhar against the persons for organizing a farewell party for the recently transferred SHO at Mendhar. The organizers violated the DM Poonch order and thus the case has been registered.
