JAMMU, Jan 10: Authorities have yet again recovered three mobile phones from the Kot Bhalwal jail here on the city outskirts.
Earlier, a mobile phone without a SIM, an earphone, and an adopter were seized from the high-security Central Jail on January 1, 2024. The seizure was made from a polythene bag found lying in an open area inside the prison complex that was spotted by a CISF jawan posted inside the prison.
In the recent incident, three mobile phones with SIM cards were thrown into the jail using rubber balls by the anti-national elements, which were again spotted by a CISF jawan, who informed the local police to take the mobile phones into custody.
Station House Officer (SHO) Gharota, Inspector Joginder Singh said, “we’ve taken the mobile phones into our possession to conduct further investigation into the matter.” Asked whether any breakthrough has been achieved in the January 1, 2024 case, he said, “not yet but we’ll achieve the results very soon.”
