3 killed, 2 injured in road accidents

RAMBAN, Mar 24: Three persons including a teenager were killed, while two others  injured in road accidents at different locations in the district.
Police spokesman said that, a tipper bearing registration number JKO2AJ-8189 was on its way to Sangaldhan from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into deep gorge near Chanderkote.
On getting information, locals and police rushed to the spot, started rescue operation and shifted the driver and his associate to District Hospital, where doctors pronounced them as brought dead, he added.
The bodies of the deceased identified as Jagdev Singh, son of Lal Chand and Rafal Singh, son of Suraj Singh, both resident of Chenani, were handed over to legal heirs, after completion of legal formalities, while a case under relevant Sections has been registered at Chanderkote police station and investigation started, he said.
In another incident, a teenager was killed, while two others were injured, when the Mahindra jeep (JK14B-1180), they were traveling in fell into a gorge near Baglihar Power Project site, spokesman added.
The deceased was identified as 14-year-old Parshotam Singh, son of Bachitter Singh of Hiller, Rajgarh, he said, adding that the condition of the injured identified as Uttam Singh, son of Mast Ram and Vikram Singh, son of Des Raj, both resident of Rajgarh, was stated to be out of danger, when last reports came in.
A case has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
