3 inter-State drug smugglers held with 512 gm heroin

JAMMU, May 5: Police in Jammu District claimed today they have arrested three inter-State drug smugglers and recovered 512 grams of heroin worth several crores from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that on May 4th, Police Station Pacca Danga received information about three drug peddlers from Punjab carrying heroin in their Ford Figo vehicle (CH01AD-2782) parked at Circular Road.
He said, the consignment was meant to be delivered among the youth of the Jammu District.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 48/2024 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation taken up.
During investigation, the police spokesperson said that a team of Pacca Danga Police Station led by SHO Pacca Danga Rakesh Singh under the supervision of SDPO City and SP City started checking the vehicles.
During search, 512 grams of heroin worth several crores was recovered from one of the vehicles (CH01AD-2782), added the police spokesperson.
According to the police spokesperson, three accused identified as Pawan Kumar of Deva Ji Colony, Mukerian, Punjab; Abhishek Kumar and Divya Arora of Chota Bagho Wali, Mukerian, Punjab, have been arrested and further investigation into the case is underway.
