JAMMU, May 30: Police today claimed that they have arrested three persons and recovered from their possession heroin, psychotropic capsules, and cash.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Gharota Police Station led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal assisted by SHO Gharota Inspector Joginder Singh Chib, while on naka duty rounded up two suspects.
During their search, he said, 7 grams of heroin was recovered.
Police identified the accused as Payar Singh of Upper Thather, Bantallab, and Rajat Kumar of Thakur Dass of Bhalwal.
The duo has been booked in case FIR number 40/2023 under Sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gharota and further investigation taken up, said the police spokesperson.
Meanwhile, a team of Police Station City led by SDPO North Sunil Kumar Kesar, assisted by SHO City SI Mohinder Singh and incharge Police Post Residency, PSI Darshan Singh while on naka duty at Vivekananda Chowk rounded up a suspect identified as Rahul of Amritsar, Punjab at present Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
During his search, police recovered 3.5 grams of heroin, 62 psychotropic capsules, and Rs 70,050 cash.
Police have booked the accused in case FIR number 27/2023 under Sections 8/21/22/27 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station City and started further investigations.
