SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Police today arrested three accused persons who have gang-raped minor girl in Palhalan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on December 25 last year.
A police official said they arrested the main kingpin Rouf Ahmad Bhat, 27, son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat of Raipora, Palhalan, today morning.
He said a police team led by Station House Officer Mehboob Hussain, assisted by probation sub inspectors Zahoor Ahmad and Asif Iqbal after thorough investigation of 23 days arrested Bhat in Palhalan area.
The shocking incidents of the gang rape had taken place on December 25 last year when Bhat along with his other accomplices abducted the minor girl from Palhalan when her mother was being operated in a hospital in Srinagar.
The victim in her ordeal to police has revealed that the gang took her to Anantnag district where they forced her to drink some sedative liquid and raped her in turns.
“We have registered an FIR No. 315/2013 under Section 363, 376 against them and the hunt is on to nab the other accused,” he said.
