JAMMU, Apr 4: In its ongoing drive against menace of adultration, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) lifted samples of some eatables from three different Food business operators from City outskirts, which were found sub-standard and unsafe for eating and accordingly booked for violating Food Safety laws.
“A team of JMC led by Health Officer, Dr Mohd Saleem Khan on the instructions of JMC Commissioner, Kiran Wattal, during random checking lifted samples of ‘Rasgulla’ from Bikano family Restaurant, Akhnoor Road, ‘Burfi’ from M/s AV Sweets, Janipur and ‘Paneer’ from M/s Pargal Milk Products, BC Road, Jammu, which were got analysed from State Food Laboratory, Jammu as per guidelines of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and then the same were subsequently sent to Central Food Laboratory (CFL).
As per the reports of CFL Kolkata, all the three food articles were found sub-standard and unsafe to eat.
The case of all the three Food Business operators is being processed under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 for prosecution in proper Court of Law after due sanction from competent authority.
