3 drug peddlers nabbed with heroin

JAMMU, Jan 8: Gujjar Nagar police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ nabbed three drug peddlers and recovered 10 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Gujjar Nagar police station laid a naka and intercepted a Scorpio car bearing temporary registration number.
During checking, police recovered 10 grams heroin from the possession of three persons traveling in the car and arrested them on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Nazakat Ali, son of Mohammad Fareed of Palath, District Samba, Sanjay Kumar, son of Ved Prakash of Narwal and Ghulam Rasool, son of Qayoom Ali of Bhathi Mohalla, Chowadhi.
A case under FIR Number 2/17 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Peer Mitha and investigation started to ascertain the source of this consignment.
Police team led by Incharge Gujjar Nagar police post SI Shariq Bhat made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Javaid Malik, SDPO City Vivek Shekhar and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
