UDHAMPUR, Apr 23: Udhampur Police arrested three drug peddlers in separate cases and recovered heroin from their possession.
During naka checking at Motor Shed, NHW Chenani, police party from PS Chenani intercepted a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK01AP-3290, which was coming from Udhampur towards Kashmir.
During search, 4.79 grams of heroin was recovered from one passenger namely Suheel Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Wani, resident of Shankarpura Bhagati, Kanipora Srinagar. Accordingly, FIR No. 65/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani and investigation has been taken up.
During traffic checking, a police party from PS Ramnagar intercepted one white coloured Toyota Glanza bearing registration number JK14J-7490 coming from Kirmoo towards Ramnagar. On checking, 6.21 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the driver namely Rahul Sharma , son of Yograj Sharma, resident of Nimbla, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur.
In this regard, FIR No. 54/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar and investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, a police party from PP Tikri apprehended one person namely Azlaan Ayoub son of Mohd Ayoub Rather, resident of Kursi, Padshahi Bagh Srinagar. During frisking, 7.13 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, FIR No. 84/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation is underway.
