Srinagar, July 13: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in north Kashmir’s Sopore and Bandipora areas and recovered huge quantity of prescription drugs and over one and a half Kilogram of Charas from their possession
A police spokesman said a drug peddler namely Dawood Ahmad Kalo of was held during a naka checking. “On checking 58 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and 884 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon were recovered from his possession,” the spokesman said.
Another drug peddler identified as Zahoor Ahmed Shah was arrested along with 510 grams of Charas during frisking at Bus Stand, Sopore, he said.
Police have registered cases under Section 8/22 NDPS and 144/15 against the duo and investigation have been taken up, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, a police party intercepted a sumo a bearing registration number JK01J 6568 on way from Srinagar to Gurez in Bandipora. “During the search one Kilogram charas was recovered from the possession of Ghulam Rasool Dar who was travelling in the vehicle,” the police spokesman said, adding that a case under FIR number 22/2015 under section 8/20 NDPS act has been registered against the peddler and investigation is on.
