MENDHAR, July 13: People from Harni and adjoining areas held massive protest at Harni Chowk and Sangala Chowk in Mendhar against the R&B, PHE and PDD authorities today.
The people from Harni and some adjoining villages and hamlets assembled at main Harni Chowk and blocked Mendhar-Surankote road from 8 am to 12 noon. They were shouting slogans against R&B, PHE and PDD authorities. They alleged that condition of this road turned worst. Water supply has been badly hit and power supply has been snapped as two transformers are lying out of order for the last over one month.
Later, they moved to Sangala Chowk at Mendhar and staged protest. The SDPO and Tehsildar moved to them and assured the agitating villagers to take up the matter with higher authorities. Then they suspended the protest.
