POONCH, Aug 5: Three notorious drug peddlers have been detained under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act (PITNDPS).
They have been identified as Abdul Rehman son of Mohd Sadeeq, resident of Deri Dabsi, Tehsil Mendhar, Zabir Khan son of Wazir Khan of Gakkar, Buffliaz, Tehsil Surankote and Ashiq Khan son of Ahmed Khan of Gakkar Buffliaz, Tehsil Surankote.
According to Police, the trio was posing serious threat to the health and welfare of the people, especially youth by way of their continued indulgence in drug trafficking.
As such with a view to prevent them from committing any further act within the meaning of illicit traffic, District Police Poonch processed their detention and got issued detention order from the Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
Accordingly, after issuance of detention warrant, the drug peddlers were taken into custody and lodged at District Jail Poonch.
