JAMMU, May 10: Three alleged drug peddlers were arrested in Jammu province today with the recovery of substantial quantity of narcotic substances from their possession.
In Rajouri district, a team of Police Station Kandi arrested a drug peddler during naka checking and recovered 48 grams of ganja-like substance from his possession, a police official said.
He was identified as Muzhair Ahmed, a resident of Dran in Koteranka tehsil.
According to the police official, the accused was booked in case FIR number 46/2026 under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Kandi.
The arrest and seizure was made by a police team led by SHO Kandi Rajveer Singh under the supervision of SP Operations Budhal Wajahat Hussain.
Meanwhile, a team of Police Station Samba arrested another drug peddler and recovered approximately 5.71 grams of heroin-like substance, commonly known as “Chitta”, from his possession.
According to police, the accused was arrested while he was moving from Mansar Morh towards Samba market under suspicious circumstances.
The accused was identified as Vinay Pratap, a resident of Prithipur in Bishnah tehsil of Jammu district.
Police said he was accordingly booked in case FIR No. 113/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Samba, with further investigation set into motion.
In another operation at Pacca Talab, Rehari area in Jammu district, a team of Police Post Rehari led by incharge Police Post concerned, in coordination with SHO Pacca Danga, arrested a drug peddler on May 9 and recovered approximately 4-5 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
He was identified as Sunny Gupta of House Number 62, Rehari Chungi, Jammu.
According to police, the accused has been booked in case FIR number 48/2026 under Sections 8/20/21 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Pacca Danga, with further investigation in the case set into the motion.
