DODA, Dec 18: Three persons including a Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department employee were killed, while two others got injured, when the Tavera car they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge near Gandoh, this morning.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK17-0951 was on its way to Gandoh from Batyas, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into 200 feet deep gorge near Army Check Post, Gandoh, resulting into injuries to five persons. The accident took place due to negligent driving.
After getting information, police team led by SDPO Gandoh BK Ganjoo and SHO Inspector Iqbal Chaoudhary rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All the injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Gandoh, where doctors declared Shukar Din, son of Ahmedulla, a resident of Chenyas as brought dead, while another injured identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmed, son of Abdullah Malik, a resident of Budhli failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Ayaz, son of Mohammad Sharif Wani, a resident of Tandla was airlifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he breathed his last.
The injured identified as Omi Chand, son of Ganga Dhar and Kirna Devi, wife of Kuldeep, both residents of Alni Gangota were undergoing treatment at SDH Gandoh and their condition was stated to be stable.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case under FIR Number 131/15 has been registered in this regard at Gandoh police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the driver, who escaped from the spot.
