JAMMU, Sept 20: A three-day workshop on ICT initiatives and computer fundamentals for DIET faculty concluded today at State Institute of Education (SIE), Jammu.
The workshop was organized by Education Technology Cell and Computer Section of SIE Jammu. Twenty faculty members from 10 DIETs of Jammu division participated in the workshop.
The programme was organized on September 18 by Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal SIE Jammu, Mohd Iqbal. The main objective of the workshop was to acquaint the participants on basic computer fundamentals and various ICT initiatives used in actual classroom transactions.
The programme was coordinated by Gurucharan Singh, Master ET Cell, SIE Jammu under the overall supervision of Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal SIE Jammu whereas Daulat Ram Sharma, Ravinder Verma, Manju Choudhary, Akash Khajuria and Tilak Raj provided logistics support for the smooth functioning of the workshop.
Seloni Khajuria, Lecturer, Computer Science, GHSS Akhnoor and Rajinder Kumar, Ex-Research officer, acted as external resource persons, who elucidate participants about basic applications of computers including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, besides acquainting them about various ICT initiatives like NROER, MOOCs, etc.
The valedictory function was presided over by KL Parihar, Field Advisor, SIE Jammu, who in his speech, emphasized for adopting the managerial skills and learnt knowledge of computer basics in actual class transactions for making it more effective and efficient.
The vote of thanks was presented by Mohinder Singh, Field Advisor and Incharge, ET Computer Wing, SIE, Jammu.
