3-day long religious function concludes

ANANTNAG, Aug 2: A grand religious function was held at Swami Swami Rama Mahasamelan Ashram Nagdandi, Achabal in South Kashmir district of Anantnag on the occasion of Nagpanchmi and Samdhi Prtishtan Divas of Swami Ashoka Nand Ji Maharaj.
A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Kashmir valley and Jammu region attended the three day long function in which rich tributes were paid to life time devotee of the Ashram Shri Vivek Ji by the participants and his contribution to the Ashram especially during the period of militancy were recalled.
The function was held under the chairmanship of B L Bhat (Katal) Chairman of the Ashram. On the occasion developmental programme for for Nagdandi Ashram was released by Swami Kumar Ji and it was dedicated to Shri Vivek Ji.
A hawan was also performed on the occasion which culminated with Puranahuti yesterday. The devotees were served Prashad after Puranahuti. Highlighting the developmental plan which was undertaken by the Ashram Mr Bhat said the Sarovar in the Ashram was given new face lift. On the occasion Swami Vivekananda Memorial statue was also unveiled.
Mr Bhat said that work on Swami Vivekananda Bhawan in the Ashram is on last stage and Swami Rama Krishna temple is also under completion. In Vivekananda Bhawan the religious conferences as per the Sanatan Dharam will be held from time to time. Besides Yog Shivara will also be organized there.
He said high density apple orchard with drip irrigation system will be established in the Ashram area.
Mr Bhat said Swami Vivekanada Memorial will charge the youth for service to the humanity.
The function among others was attended by MLC Vijay Bakaya, Dr K N  Pandita, Prof A N Sadhu, M K Yogi president Teerath Raj Mattan and Jai Krishan Raina an activist of the Ashram.
Besides the PM package employees also held a meeting with Mr Bhat who urged them to involve themselves with the management of shrines in Kashmir and act as ambassadors of the community in Valley.
