Sagar releases Rs 1 cr for completion of developmental projects

SRINAGAR, Aug 2: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar has asked the officers to ensure timely completion of various development initiatives under taken by the Government for the holistic development of Srinagar city.
The Minister was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the status of completion of various developmental proects undertaken by the Government in different sectors like, Housing, PHE, PDD, R&B etc.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, SMC, Dr. G.N. Qasba, Chief Engineer PHE, and senior officers of housing, UEED, LAWDA, PDD and R&B.
Mr. Sagar released Rs. 1 crore for completion of various developmental works being carried out under various sectors in the city. Out of total released amount, Rs. 75 lakh have been earmarked for improving drainage system of the city.
The Minister impressed upon the officers to work hard with utmost dedication and ensure completion of all the ongoing projects taken up in the Srinagar city involving crores of rupees well in time. He stressed upon the executing agency to accelerate the pace of work, adding that compromise on sub standard material will not be tolerated.
Mr. Sagar stressed for formulation of new projects for beautification of Srinagar city. He reiterated the Government’s resolve to make the Srinagar city a model city of the country by providing all modern facilities to the people at their door steps.
The Minister directed SMC authorities to speed up the pace of construction work on City Gate which is being constructed in the Shehar-e-Khas. He directed to launch sanitation drive in Srinagar city to make the city neat and clean. He also directed Chief Engineer, PHE, Kashmir for providing uninterrupted water supply in the city for the convenience of the people
