JAMMU, Sept 30: Police today arrested three bovine smugglers and rescued 24 milch animals from their possession.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Nagrota police station led by SHO OP Chib, intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JKO5C 7082.
During checking, police recovered 11 bovines and arrested two persons namely Javaid Rather of Baramulla and Manzoor Ahmed of Yarbough.
A case has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police party from Jhajjar Kotli police station led by SHO Parvez Sajad laid a naka at Jammu-Srinagar national highway and intercepted a truck (JK14B 2837). During checking, police recovered 13 milch animals and arrested truck driver Manzoor Ahmed of Doda.
A case has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station.
The arrests were made under the supervision of SDPO Khalik Choudhary.
