3 bovine smugglers die in mishap

POONCH, July 15: Three bovine smugglers and four cattle were killed when a Tata Mobile vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Poshana area near Pir-ki-Gali on Mughal Road early today.
The police said that the mishap took place at around 5.30 am when the vehicle No. JK-11/ 0985 loaded with four  bovine animals was moving towards Kashmir Valley- via- Mughal Road. The smugglers managed to cross police nakkas at  Thanamandi, Dera ki Gali, Bafliaz, Chandimarh and even at Behramgalla.
Due to some mechanical failure, the vehicle went out of control and fell down into nearly 250 ft deep gorge, killing all the three persons including driver and four animals on the spot.
The police party from Chandimarh and Behramgalla reached the spot. Later SDPO Surankote Riaz Tantray also arrived there. The police shifted the dead bodies to Surankote hospital for postmortem. The dead animals were also disposed off after performing legal formalities.  The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
The deceased persons were later identified as  Mohd Tariq (25), son of  Abdul Rashid, Tahir Ahmed (26), son of Abdul Rashid, residents of Behrote ( Thannamandi) and Mohd Zubair, son of Jamaldin, resident of Gambir Muglan in Manjakote ( Rajouri).
