Srinagar, June 16: Taking strict action against illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, the police today arrested three people and seized three vehicles in Baramulla.
Under the supervision of SDPO Pattan, a police team, assisted by Incharge PP Palhallan, seized three vehicles (an excavator and 2 tractors) and arrested 3 individuals for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Dargam Nallah in Pattan.
According to the police, the arrested individuals have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Sheikh, son of Shabir Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Kangan Ganderbal; Javid Ahmad Waza, son of Ghulam Qadir Waza, a resident of Frestihar Kreeri; and Owais Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Rafiq Bhat, a resident of Pakipora.
The police stated that a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Pattan.
